Welcome to Olympia Pediatric Dentistry! For years, our patients have developed a trusting relationship with Dr. Andrea VanCleave, our pediatric dentist in Olympia, Washington, who also provides care to those in the surrounding cities of Lacey, Yelm, Rainier, Tenino, Tumwater, Shelton, Rochester, Hawks Prairie, Centralia, and Dupont. Mothers especially can relate, since our pediatric dentist is a mother herself. Prior to being a dentist, she was a preschool teacher, and has received extensive training to work with children. In our dental rooms, we love to have parents with patients to foster trust and help little ones feel safe and comfortable. Our fun environment makes it so our patients do not even want to leave. You can expect our team to always be caring, compassionate, and loving with your children. We hope you will choose us for all of your child’s pediatric dental needs!
If your infant has had trouble breastfeeding — or a nursing mother has experienced pain and discomfort — that might be a sign of a tongue-tie or lip-tie. These conditions affect about 4% of infants and can lead to complications with gaining weight, developing speech and proper oral development.
We can help! If you think your child might have a tongue-tie or lip-tie, please bring them in to be checked by our caring dentist and team. If we find either condition, we can fix the problem with a simple, gentle procedure! Contact us today to learn more.
We can even check and treat infants who are only a few days old!

Meet Our Doctor
Andrea M. VanCleave, DDS, MSD
A native of Olympia, Dr. VanCleave was introduced to dentistry at an early age. Her father, Dr. Jack Cox, practiced dentistry for over 30 years in Lacey, where Dr. VanCleave helped as an assistant during summers growing up. Her mother, Roxanne, is a teacher and school administrator, and helped inspire a love of teaching and working with children. In fact, Dr. VanCleave taught preschool through grade 12 at a local private school before pursuing her career in dentistry.
Graduating with high honors from the University of Washington, Dr. VanCleave founded and directed the University of Washington Pediatric Dental Society. She served as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, and her research has been published in the Journal of the American Dental Association and the Journal of Anesthesia Progress. Dr. VanCleave strives to make every child comfortable and happy while providing a safe, caring environment for dental treatment.
